Apple Patent: iPod nano Clip als Dock-Verbindung

Apple sammelt dieser Tage wieder fleißig Patente ein, ob die es allerdings jemals in ein Produkt schaffen, bleibt wie immer abzuwarten. Nachdem wir euch vor wenigen Tagen ein iPhone Case als Mikrofonschutz gezeigt haben, taucht nun das nächste Apple Patent in Form eines iPod nano Clips auf, der als Dock-Verbindung dienen soll.

Unter dem Titel „Portable User Device with a Clip Having Electrical Thermals“ hat das U.S. Patent and Trademark Office nun ein Patent veröffentlicht, welches den Clip eines iPod nano als Sicherung sowie zur Dock-Anbindung beschreibt.

Systems and methods are provided for docking a portable user device to a docking device or adapter via a clip mechanism. A portable user device may include two clip members which rotate relative to one another about an axis. A coupling pivot may be coupled to both clip members to facilitate relative rotation, and may provide a clamping force between the clip members. One or more terminals may be located on at least one of the clip members, allowing data transfer, charging, or other functions when the portable user device is docked using the clip mechanism.
