Jony Ive zu Gast beim Cannes Lions Festival

Die Organisatoren des Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity haben bekannt gegeben, dass sie beim diesjährigen 61. Festival Bono mit dem LionHeart Award auszeichnen möchten. Den Preis erhält der U2 Sänger für seine (RED) Initiative im Kampf gegen AIDS.

Im Rahmen der Preisverleihung werden Bono sowie Apples Chefdesigner Jonathan „Jony“ Ive bei einem Interview über ihre Zusammenarbeit sprechen. Apple beteiligt sich seit Jahren mit seinem (Product)RED im Kampf gegen AIDS und hat mittlerweile über 70 Millionen Dollar beigesteuert.

In an exclusive seminar for Cannes Lions delegates, Bono will join Jonathan Ive, Apple Inc’s Senior Vice President of Design, in a discussion moderated by Shane Smith, CEO and Founder of VICE Media, and introduced by Anne Finucane, Global Strategy and Marketing Officer of (RED) partner, Bank of America. Bono and Jonathan Ive will discuss the success of (RED) and [its] unique collaboration with global partners – including Apple, (RED)’s largest corporate contributor to the AIDS fight – and the record-breaking (RED) Design Auction curated by Jonathan Ive and Marc Newson. The auction resulted in $44 million for the Global Fund on World AIDS Day last year.

Gemeinsam mit Mac Newson stiftete Jony Ive im vergangenen Jahr ganz speziell designte Produkte für eine (RED) Auktion. So brachte ein roter Mac Pro z.B. 721.000 Dollar, goldene EarPods brachten es auch 340.000 Euro. (via)
