CarPlay: Navigations-Apps von Drittanbietern derzeit nicht erlaubt

Auch wenn Apple und Google mit CarPlay und Android Auto ihre „Lösungen“ für das Fahrzeug bereits vor einigen Monaten vorgestellt haben, stecken beide Systeme noch in den Kinderschuhen. Der Anfang ist gemacht und in den kommenden Jahren werden wir noch zahlreiche Verbesserungen erleben, davon sind wir überzeugt.

Apple bietet über CarPlay mit der Telefon-App, Musik, Karten-App ud Nachrichten-App eigene Apps für das System an. Drittanbieter Apps, wie z.B. Spotify und Stitcher, werden ebenso unterstützt. Navigations-Apps von Drittanbietern sind über CarPlay jedoch nicht erlaubt.

A statement on Apple CarPlay: Since Apple’s announcement of CarPlay a lot of people are asking if and when our NAVIGON apps will support it. – We would love to, but unfortunately this is not possible at the moment as Apple currently doesn’t allow navigation apps to support this feature. As soon as Apple allows CarPlay support also for navigation apps we’ll immediately have a closer look into this.

Per Facebook hat sich Navigon zur Thematik geäußert und klargestellt, dass das Unternehmen gerne eine Navigations-App für CarPlay anbieten würde. Zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt würde Apple allerdings keine Navi-Apps erlauben. Sobald Apple Navi-Apps für CarPlay zulassen werde, werde man sich intensiver mit der Materie beschäftigen. (Danke Jimbo)
