iOS 10 soll eigene HomeKit-App erhalten. Die Arbeiten an iOS 10 laufen im Hintergrund und hier und da zeigt sich das kommende System bereits in Serverlogs. Im Juni dieses Jahres wird Apple iOS 10 präsentieren und eine erste Beta bereit stellen. Bis dahin sollte das System reif für die Betaphase sein.

Eigene HomeKit-App für iOS

Seit dem Start von HomeKit gab es immer mal wieder vereinzelte Stimmen, dass Apple eine zentrale HomeKit-App präsentiert sollte, die die „smarten“ Geräte verwalten kann. Bisher übernehmen diese Aufgabe zahlreiche Drittanbieter-Apps. Nun gibt es das erste Indiz dafür, dass Anwendern zukünftig eigene HomeKit-App von Apple erhalten.

Der Hinweis kommt von einem Amazon Produkt-Reviewer, der beim Apple Marketing arbeitet. Macrumors kann bestätigen, dass die Produktbewetung tatsächlich von dem Apple Mitarbeiter stammt. Es heißt

Some advice, there are many third party applications, most free, that offer more control and customization(s) with many Smart Home devices. „Yonomi“ is a free app that I often use, „Home“ is another which cost $14.99. Both offer support for many devices with more added daily (including Amazon „Echo“). The next version of iOS due this fall will have a standalone „HomeKit“ app as well.

Auch wenn die Quelle der Info verifiziert wurde, heißt es noch nicht, dass es die HomeKit-App auch tatsächlich in die finale Version von iOS 10 schafft. Apple hat sich bereits ein HomeKit App-Icon markenrechtlich geschützt. Die App als solche könnte schlicht „Home“ heißen.
