Apple TV bezogene Ankündigung noch dieses Jahr?

Auch wenn es nicht unbedingt ein eigener Apple HDTV ist, irgendwas soll Apple in diesem Segment im Schilde führen und noch dieses Jahr präsentieren. Bereits im Februar äußerte sich der ehemalige TechCrunch Redakteur MG Siegler dahingehend, dass Apple einen signifikanten Vorstoß in das TV-Segment für dieses Jahr plant, nun legt Siegler noch einmal nach. Auch wenn er nicht sagen kann, ob Apple einen eigenen Fernseher auf den Markt bringt, glaubt er daran, dass dieses Jahr noch etwas passieren wird.

Vor Kurzem war Siegler zu Gast bei „The Talk Show“ mit John Gruber. Am Ende der Show wurde unter anderem über das sogenannte iPhone 5C und die iWatch gesprochen. In diesem Zusammenhang deutete Siegler abermals an, dass Apple etwas TV bezogenes noch dieses Jahr plant. Im November könnte dies der Fall sein. Bei 1:27 Std. heißt es im Podcast

Not to go into rumor central here but the latest things I’ve heard, that some sort of television product — not necessarily a television screen but something — could be coming as soon as this November. And I think there’s some surprises there about what it could actually be and I don’t know this for sure yet, but there’s been whispers about, so I’m not going to write anything about it, but there’s whispers out there that the interaction with it could be the interesting thing. People have talked about voice, but I think that that might be out the window and there might be some new way to interact with whatever this thing is.

Schon mehrfach hat Apple angedeutet, dass der Hersteller großes Interesse am Wohnzimmer hat. Das letzte AppleTV Update brachte Inhalte von WatchESPN, HBO GO, Sky News und weiteren Sendern auf AppleTV. Darüberhinaus heißt es, dass Apple mit zahlreichen weiteren Rechteinhabern verhandelt. (via)
